ARCHIPELAGO, 2020

basswood, wood glue, fishing line

Created for the Varley Art Gallery, in Markham, Archipelago consists of several clusters of wooden hexagons manifesting into twisting structures of varying size. These structures are laid out within the gallery’s lobby, both on the ground and floating, ascending slightly as they guide the viewer deeper into the gallery. Viewers are able to navigate through and around the structures, engaging with each structure as if an island within an archipelago
